The River City Chili Cook-Off is a fundraiser for local education. Yep, you’re tasting food and drinking for the kids! It all started back in 2012 when a couple of parents decided it was time to break away from the traditional fundraiser and put on an event geared toward foodies. Read more. 

The River City Chili Cook-Off VIP Experience ticket holders get into Ace of Spades an hour early at 6:30 p.m., access to two lounge areas with seating, a complimentary signature cocktail, meet and greet with the event judges. Plus, we’re working on other awesome perks just for VIP Experience ticket holders.

Yes, the River City Chili Cook-Off is open to the public and anyone over the age of 21.

Yes. The multi-talented Skyler Michael entertains the crowd through the evening.

Unfortunately, no; however, ith over a dozen competitors serving unlimited 2-3oz serving you shouldn’t go hungry. Pro Tip: if you really like a chili, get 3 to 4 samples, which would be equal to a 12oz bowl of chili. 😉

The River City Chili Cook-Off is a fundraising event supporting local education. As such, we have a no-host bar featuring top-shelf liquor and craft beer. While the drinks aren’t free, they are priced lower than what other venues in the area charge. Plus, all the proceeds of drink sales go directly to our benefactor.

No food
No outside beverages
No drugs or drug paraphernalia
No chains, chain wallets, or spikes
No weapons of any kind
No fireworks or explosives
No face masks
No professional cameras (a professional camera is any type of DSLR or a camera with a removable lens)
No GoPros
No audio recording devices
No sharpies
No lasers or laser pointers
No pets (with the exception of documented service animals)
No selfie sticks
No iPads or tablets
We do not currently offer onsite storage for prohibited items, so please plan in advance.

We reserve the right to conduct security searches prior to entry and the right to refuse admission. Our security procedures may include the use of metal detection devices, pat downs, and bag searches. We utilize these safety measures during all of our events to make sure that all patrons, artists, and staff are safe and secure in our venue. We may also have Sacramento Police Department officers on site during our events to add even more security for our guests.
